DOJO RULES
- Karate is for defense only.
- You must always respect your opponents and work out with them at their level.
- You must report all ailments or injuries to the instructor before class. Modifications
to the class may be made to accommodate you to protect yourself and others.
- Do not talk in class unless asking a question. Questions should be saved for the
end of class, unless they are associated with the current technique.
- If you feel something was taught incorrectly, save it for the instructor in private after class.
- Always refer to the class instructor by Shihan, Sensei or Sempi during class; even
if he/she is a close friend. Outside of class, high ranking instructors should
still be called by title. I.E., Shihan Almeida.
- When ending class always line up by worn rank. While bowing be sure to thank the instructor.
- Class should be attended by clean students in clean work out clothing. Some
classes may demand gi's be worn. No jewelry of any kind should be worn in class.
Cups should be worn at all times.
- Fingernails and toenails should be clean and trimmed.
- Be on time for class.
- Be humble, someone always knows more.
- Kata should be practiced daily.
- Karate is for defense only.
- These rules may change if the instructor deems so.
